One pot cajun prawn

Super simple, tasty & fodmap friendly!

The perfect midweek meal 🥘

I think anyone on the lowfodmap diet will agree with just how challenging it can be when foods/ingredients are so limited! Your meals can start to become ‘same old’ & bland 😫… so when I spotted a fodmap friendly Cajun seasoning in my local Asda that you don’t have to pay a premium for, my brain was going crazy with all the new meals I could make 😋

Serves 1;


  • Asda Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 aubergine chopped
  • 60g courgette chopped
  • 1 large carrot sliced
  • 30g basmati rice
  • 1/2 low fodmap massels chicken stock cube (can be made without)
  • 1 pack cooked prawns (I get mine from Aldi)
  • Smoked & Normal paprika


  1. Heat your oil (I use fry light) in a frying pan on a medium to low heat (I have mine on 4), once hot add your courgette, aubergine & carrot
  2. Fry gently until the veg has become tender (around 10 minutes) ensuring to stir in between
  3. Add 1/2 tsp smoked paprika, 1tsp paprika, 1 tsp Cajun seasoning. Stir & leave for 1-2 minutes
  4. Add 1/2 fodmap friendly stock cube made up in 200ml water. Add your basmati rice to the pan
  5. Leave your dish to simmer until the rice has cooked (I leave mine on the same sitting & summer for 20 minutes)
  6. Turn the heat down & stir in your prawns 🍤
  7. Enjoy 😉
